An appliance pickup needs a clear description of the appliance and the work around it. Tell the business what it is, where it sits, its approximate dimensions and whether it is still connected. Include photos of the appliance, surrounding space and route to the truck.
Confirm the appliance is accepted
Name refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, ovens and other equipment individually. Explain any damage, loose parts or unusual condition. Ask whether the appliance needs a separate handling or disposal charge and whether that amount is included in the quoted total. A service listing alone does not establish acceptance of every appliance type.
Keep connection work explicit
Removal and disconnection are different tasks. Ask what condition the appliance must be in before pickup, who is responsible for getting it ready, and whether the hauler offers any preparation work. If a gas, electrical or water connection needs attention, agree on the appropriate preparation arrangement rather than assuming the hauling crew will perform it.
Describe the route, not just the machine
Mention basement stairs, tight doorways, elevator access, flooring concerns and the distance to parking. Ask whether doors or other parts need to be removed and who handles that work. Do not move a heavy appliance into a worse position just to prepare for pickup. Confirm scope, readiness and the final price with the business before loading begins.
BEFORE THE PICKUP
Your quick preparation list.
- Share dimensions and photos of the appliance and exit route.
- Tell the business about all existing connections.
- Confirm readiness instructions directly with the crew.
